Meet Rachel from Seashells + Sparkles

So when I was reading through Seashells + Sparkles, I knew Rachel was a fun and outgoing person, but after doing this interview, she's someone who will honestly brighten up your day! She's an amazingly funny and super sweet and if you haven't checked out her blog... Your missing out on something great!

So below I give you a peep inside the mastermind of Seashells + Sparkles, everyone I give you Rachel!
How would you describe yourself and your personality?

You’re totally going to laugh, but I would definitely say I’m spunky. I’m not really sure what being “spunky” entails by dictionary definition but I’m all over the place, I work hard, I like having a good time, I love my friends, I am a procrastinator, and I’m energetic and friendly!

What did you start your blog and why?

I didn’t work over the summer going into my junior year of college so I was spending a lot of time outside and even more time reading. I seriously read everything and anything I could get my hands on – newspapers, magazines, websites, blogs, the list goes on and on. After reading blogs nonstop for a couple of weeks, I figured since I had so much time on my hands that it would be a fun challenge to start a blog! Since then, my blogging has really evolved and Seashells + Sparkles is almost a year old!

How has blogging impacted your life?

There’s such a supportive blogging community that has not only allowed me to meet some amazing and inspiring ladies, but I’ve been able to work with some great companies and attend some phenomenal events. The Internet is such a diverse place and every blog is different, but the whole aspect of blogging has taught me so much more than how to write and in my eyes, there’s nothing better than that.

How do you maintain a successful blog?

I would be nowhere without my planner – it’s my lifeline. I also am constantly writing down blog post ideas and scribbling out brainstorm sessions. Also, in order to promote your blog, you need to promote yourself so I try to be as active on social media as much as possible and always remind myself to keep a constant voice across all platforms!

What are your go to resources for blogging?

I swear by Pinterest, The Nectar Collective, and Helene in Between for blogging resources. Between the three of those websites/blogs, I can always find the answer to something I’m trying to figure out.

What blog do you highly recommend others to read?

I absolutely adore Helene In Between – Helene has some great advice, funny posts, and awesome webinars! Cathleen of Classy Cathleen and Cristina from Cristina on Campus are my home girls so I’m very biased and love their blogs!

What’s your aspiration in life?

This is a tough question to answer because I’m not 100% sure what I want to do with my life, but my main focus is finding something I love to do and sticking to it. Enjoying what you do changes your outlook on life and how happy you are.

What’s your inspiration in life?

Life itself is so inspiring – from the people I meet, the places I go, and the things I see. It’s hard not to be inspired when you live in such a beautiful world!

What would you consider your style?

My style is all over the place but I think I would have to consider it classic with a modern twist. I love playing with my style and incorporating all the fun trends!

What are your top five favorite items in your closet?

My anorak jacket from the Loft, my Frye riding boots, a comfy pair of running sneaks, my Lululemon leggings (cause, duh), and my Piko top!

What can you not leave the house without?

My cell phone! I’m a total phone junkie – I’m addicted to social media, texting my friends, and playing the Kim Kardashian game (go ahead, you can laugh). It’s a bad habit to rely on my phone so much, but I’m trying to break it! I’ll let you know how that one goes…..

What’s one thing you want to do before you leave this world and be remembered for?

I could care less about how successful my work is and how much of an impact it makes on those around me. What I do want to do is to inspire my friends, family, and those around me and be a positive person in their life. There would be no greater honor than knowing my friends and family members knowing I loved them so much.

So there's a little about Rachel and you guys should check out her blog:

And keep up with her on social media:

Friday Five

So high school is really getting to me and the work load is a lot more than I expected I will say. I've also found myself drinking coffee everyday (not that I'm complaining) and eating A LOT of pumpkin (cheers to fall!) . But overall I have been enjoying October and it's weather ( 59 degrees... in love), life, and I am super stocked about the holidays coming soon!
But here's the things I found interesting about this week!

(This is like the best chocolate on EARTH!)

1// The Hanna Plaid Brooks Popover I've received from Southern Proper! Absolutely adorable and I'm thinking about wearing it to go pumpkin picking Saturday!

2// So the blog has FINALLY made it on Bloglovin, so make sure you follow on bloglovin! We also became part of the Her Campus Blogger Network!

3// I have currently been addicted to two blogs you guys should really check out! They are Seashells and Sparkles and Murphy's Law.

4// Gal Meets Glam Bauble Bar Collection

5// I cannot keep my eyes off these booties! Crossing my fingers they end up under the Christmas tree!

Till next time!

Southern Proper for Fall: Hanna Plaid Brooks Popover

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

So if you didn't already know, but Southern Proper has launched an all knew fall collection for women! So not only do they do tees and sunglasses, they now do dresses, popovers, fleeces, etc. They were also kind enough to let me try out three products that I have fallen absolutley in love with, and I encourage you all to go buy something from the fall collection!

So my favorite product I received is the Hanna Plaid Brooks Popover, which I can't lie I'm so in love with. It's super soft and the plaid pattern is simple and cute, and did I mention it was super soft! The collar to the pop overs are to die for! Their scalloped... It was honestly love at first sight. I love the scalloped look cause it gives off the fun and playful look instead of the plain and simple like other popovers,(I still love classic popovers by the way).  The quality is also amazing and they are thick enough to keep you warm during this amazingly chilly weather.

So I wore the Hanna Plaid Brooks Popover Sunday for church, and I topped it with a light brown vest, pearl tassel necklace, a couple of pearl bracelets, a pair of jeans, and my Sperry's. The outfit was comfortable, cute, and simple. And well I fell in love with it! So here are some picture from Sunday...

Jeans (Aeropostale)/ Shoes (Sperry)/ Necklace (borrowed from mom)/ Vest ( Out of Stock).

Again a big thanks to Southern Proper and your team for making this happen... more post to come on the other products! Stay tuned!

A Peek Into My Week

So starting Friday I'm going to do Friday Fives which is trends or favorite post and onMondays, I will do a look into my week so you can also get a glimpse of my weekend to!!

1// So my mom bought me a book I have been dying to read and since it was on sell she brought it!!! I shall be doing a book review on it when I finish, but if you want to go ahead and start reading the book is " Since You've Been Gone" by Morgan Matson.

2// So I went thrifting at this store in North Raleigh and found some things and I willdefinitely be taking a trip back! But my favorite item I brought was a rose pink Gap button up. I'll be doing an OOTD post on that soon as well.

3// Pumpkin: Well I've been ADDICTED to this seasonal food ever since that put in on the shelves! I have been drinking non-stop Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Cappuccinos, Pumpkin Pie Pop-Tarts, and Pumpkin Bread! It's like I can't go without it now, and since its seasonal, it makes it even better to enjoy.

4// Halloween Movies:
This my favorite time of the year cause I get to watch non-stop old Disney Halloween movies. My favorite are Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown!!!
